Parent Update- January 21st, 2019

Dear parents and guardians,

With January flying by, it is hard to believe that we are nearly half-way through the school year. With that in mind, we have some news and updates that we wanted to share:

  1. Accountability Pillar reports- In the next week or too, for parents of students in Grade 4, 5 and 6, you should be receiving some mail from the government. The letter will contain information about completing the Accountability Pillars survey.  This is a survey is done yearly and provides parents the opportunity to provide feedback on how you feel that we are doing at Elm Street School. We would appreciate your time in filling this out as we value your feedback. Should you require the use of a computer to complete the survey, please contact us and we will make arrangements to ensure that you have access.

  1. Lock Down Drill- Elm Street School will be conducting a lock down drills for all students this Wednesday. This drill is carried out year and will only interrupt learning for a few minutes. Once the drill is initiated, students simply move to an area of the classroom away from the doors and windows.  While we will certainly speak to students regarding the purpose of the drill, please don’t hesitate to so at home if you would like.

  1. After School Programming continues- Just a reminder that we have a variety of afterschool programming: The schedule is as follows:

Choir: Grades K-4- Monday from 2:45-3:30

Grades 4-6- Wednesday from 2:45-3:30

Wrestling:     Grades 4-6- Monday and Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 PM

Tutoring: All grades- Wednesdays from 2:45-3:30

Please keep in mind that all of these programs require registration. if you have not registered yet please contact us to do so.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.

All the best in the coming weeks!
