Garden Club
Greenhouse Team 2025
At Elm Street School our garden club teaches students about gardening, plant care, sustainability and environmental awareness. Students participate in planting gardens from seed where they learn about the different stages of plant life and how to properly maintain a garden. Students will also learn about different types of plants, how to compost, and ways to attract pollinators to their garden. Garden Club can help students develop a deeper connection to nature and a sense of responsibility for the environment.
Elm Street School is fortunate enough to have a professional greenhouse that was donated to us which allows the students to grow and maintain plants all year long. The Gas City Kiwanis Club has been very generous with monetary grants and volunteer support in helping to develop and expand our Garden Club program. We very much appreciate their ongoing support!
Elm Street School students host a yearly plant sale with funds raised going towards supporting the Garden club's activities, purchasing supplies and/or equipment and materials for future projects. The plant sale not only serves as a fundraiser but also as a way for the students to showcase their hard work and passion for gardening. Overall, the yearly plant sale is a successful and rewarding event for the students, who take pride in their accomplishments and the positive impact they have on their school and community.
