River Flats Run
Elm Street School in partnership with The Gas City Kiwanis Club and Ever Active Schools, is proud to host our Annual River Flats Run.
At last years event, Elm Street School hosted over 1000 Students/staff from 12 different schools representing 3 local school divisions. With more then 100 community volunteers, Ever Active Schools and The Gas City Kiwanis Club along with a donation from South Country Co-op, all participants were supplied with free water and hot dogs following the run.
Tara Chisholm with Ever Active Schools was part of the organizing team. “Physical literacy – things like running, jumping, skipping and hopping – are the ABCs of being active. If we don’t teach those the same as we teach other forms of literacy, then we have adults who aren’t confident and comfortable being active as they get older. Things like this run help to instill that in our youth and allow them to enjoy being active for life.”
